Torquay trio The Burbs have just released their new single, There’s No Time For Presents, which is a stark and stirring single that peels back the skin of emotional vulnerability.

Known for blending grunge textures with pop sensibilities, the band dives deeper into confessional territory here. Produced by Aaron Dobos at Sing Sing Studios, the track is anchored by muted guitars and a simmering rhythm, while Brook Mckeon’s vocals deliver each word like a wound.

The eerie sound of a pocketknife slicing paper threads through the song, amplifying its tension. Lyrically, it confronts guilt, powerlessness, and the quiet violence of regret.

Following the success of Ladder To The Moon and their debut demo album, The Burbs are proving they’re more than just buzz, they’re carving their truth into the bones of modern Australian alt-rock. Check out There’s No Time For Presents below.
