YACOVELLI have just released their new single Doppelganger, which dives headfirst into a distorted identity crisis, delivering a gritty blend of punk and neo-grunge that’s pure “Nu York” chaos.

Frontman Alex Yacovelli, a staple in NYC’s underground, pushes boundaries with snarling guitars and layered textures. The track opens with a warped siren, spiraling into a confrontation between dual selves—echoing the confusion of seeing a stranger in your own reflection.

Lyrically, it wrestles with moral disorientation, mirroring life’s darker turns. The chorus intensifies with each repeat, ending in a thunderous, cathartic release. This is garage rock with teeth, sharp and self-aware.

YACOVELLI isn’t just channeling the city’s noise, they’re amplifying its rawest emotions. Catch their unfiltered energy live on June 6th at Mercury Lounge. Check out Doppelganger below.
