Nottingham-based duo Moon Cub have just released their dreamy debut single, Utopia 90, which is a serene, nostalgic blend of downtempo electronica and late ‘90s psychedelia.

Serving as a preview for their upcoming album Skyline Waiting Room, the track evokes a wistful sense of escapism, ideal for reflective moments spent staring out of a moving train or bus window. Rob Muir handles the instrumentation and production, while Suzy Muir’s vocals and lyrics bring a personal, emotive layer to the soundscape.

A standout saxophone contribution from longtime friend Pete Norman adds a hazy, soulful edge. The song channels the hopeful spirit of a bygone decade, urging listeners to reconnect with its sense of wonder.

Utopia 90 is a gentle yet compelling statement of intent from a band reviving the UK’s rich legacy of trip-hop and psychedelic pop. Check out the single below.
