Life on Thin Ice unveil new EP titled 'As Days Went By'
Life on Thin Ice, led by musician Kirill Yurchev, have just unveiled a captivating EP titled "As Days Went By" via OMNINORM Records.
Kirill, based in Cyprus, delves into IDM with guitar elements, drawing inspiration from WARP Records of the 90's, American funk of the 70's, and punk of the 80's, along with modern influences like Other People label by Nicholas Jaar. His music fluidly merges different genres, creating a unique sonic experience that is hard to categorize.
The EP features four tracks that showcase Kirill's experimentation with songwriting and recording techniques honed during lockdown periods. Tracks like "Greenfied (On Fire)" and "Brainstoppers" (which has a video, created by zen!a) exhibit a blend of IDM, trip-hop, and electrifying guitar samples. The EP, mixed by Marcus Papageorgiou and mastered by Vlad Isaev, reflects Kirill's dedication to exploring diverse musical styles and pushing creative boundaries.
