Indoor Friends’ latest single, Psyayayduck

Indoor Friends have released their new single Psyayayduck, which is a playful departure from their previous somber work.

Inspired by a line from the lead singer’s notes, "My therapist thinks I’m talented", the track balances humor with catchy hooks. The band embraces escapism, blending video game themes and wit, with the song’s title referencing the iconic sound of Pokémon’s Psyduck.

While the song is straightforward in production, it highlights the band’s evolution as both writers and performers. Drawing on influences from 90s and early 2000s alternative rock, they incorporate nostalgic instrumentals.

Recorded at The Record Co. in Boston, the track features a distinctive bridge where synths mimic the reverb of old SNES games, enhancing its playful, nostalgic vibe. Check out Psyayayduck below.
